Product Introduction
Tofajoint 5mg Tablet contains tofacitinib, a disease-modifying antirheumatoid agent (DMARD) belonging to the class of immunomodulators. It is used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat rheumatoid arthritis (a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the joints, causing pain, swelling, and reduced function) in adults who cannot tolerate or do not respond to other treatment options. It is also used to treat psoriatic arthritis (a condition characterised by joint pain, swelling, and skin scaling). Tofajoint 5mg Tablet is indicated for treating adult patients with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis. Additional uses include ankylosing spondylitis (an inflammatory disease of the spine) and active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis, a chronic disease causing pain and swelling of the joints in patients aged 2 years and above. The medicine works by reducing the activity of the immune system. Inform your doctor if you have severe blood infection, active tuberculosis, or liver problems. Notify your doctor if you have ever had or currently have hepatitis B infection, as this medicine may reactivate hepatitis B. Do not use Tofajoint 5mg Tablet if you are allergic to tofacitinib or any other ingredient in this medicine. Inform your healthcare professional if you experience any signs of infection, including fever, sweating, chills, muscle aches, cough, shortness of breath, weight loss, skin sores, difficulty or pain on swallowing, diarrhoea, or stomach pain. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney, heart, lung, or liver disease, a history of tuberculosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or if you are a current or former smoker.
