Product Introduction
Toporis 50mg Capsule is an anticancer medication containing Etoposide. It is classified as a cytostatic agent and is used to treat certain cancers including testicular cancer, small-cell lung cancer, acute myeloid leukaemia, tumours of the lymphatic system (Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma), and ovarian cancer in adults. Inform your doctor if you are currently receiving or have recently received radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Report any infections or low blood protein levels (albumin) to your doctor. Toporis 50mg Capsule should not be taken if you have recently received vaccination with yellow fever vaccine or any live vaccines. Before beginning treatment, it is important to inform your physician of any current or past kidney problems or liver disorders. Both women and men must use effective contraception during treatment and for at least 6 months after the final dose. Men should avoid fathering a child during treatment and for up to 6 months after completion. Discuss fertility concerns with your doctor. Toporis 50mg Capsule may reduce blood cell levels and increase infection risk. Your doctor may perform regular blood tests to monitor kidney and liver function. Safety in children has not been established.
Uses
Testicular cancer Small-cell lung cancer Acute myeloid leukaemia (blood cancer) Hodgkinâs lymphoma and non-Hodgkinâs lymphoma Ovarian cancer
How it works
Toporis 50mg Capsule works by inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase II (essential for cell replication) and DNA synthesis, which will prevent cancer cells from growing and multiplying, ultimately leading to cell death.
How to Use
Toporis 50mg Capsule is taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water. Avoid chewing, breaking, or crushing it. Your physician will choose the dosage based on your medical condition because it differs for each person.
Side Effects
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Serious Severe allergic reactions (swelling of tongue or throat, breathing difficulties, rash, flushing, fast heartbeat) Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) Blood disorder Hepatotoxicity (damage to the liver) Acute leukaemia Common Nausea, vomiting Loss of appetite Abdominal pain Constipation, diarrhoea Changes in skin colour Weakness Asthenia (feeling weak) Temporary hair loss High or low blood pressure Dizziness Redness of the skin Sore lips, throat, or mouth ulcers
Expert Tips
Discuss your fertility problem with the doctor since, in men, it is advised not to father a child during and after the 6 months of treatment. So it is advised to get suggestions about fertility concerns. Avoid planning for the pregnancy. If you experience any symptoms mentioned as a side effect, consult your doctor immediately. Notify your doctor immediately if you have undergone or are taking or planning any radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Inform your doctor immediately if you took any vaccines inducing yellow fever and live vaccine and other medications before starting with Toporis 50mg Capsule because it might reduce the effectiveness of this medicine and may cause side effects. Inform your doctor if you have or had any history of heart disease, kidney problems, or liver problems.
