Product Introduction

Topotec 2.5mg Injection contains the active ingredient Topotecan. It is indicated for treatment of recurrent ovarian and lung cancer following completion of prior chemotherapy. For advanced cervical cancer where surgery or radiotherapy is not suitable, this medicine is used in combination with the anticancer drug cisplatin. Use in paediatric patients is not recommended. Patients should avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment with Topotec 2.5mg Injection, as these can increase drug levels in the body and may lead to adverse effects. If you have previously experienced allergic reactions to Topotec 2.5mg Injection or any of its ingredients, inform your doctor before commencing this medicine. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop unusual bruising or bleeding, fever, severe abdominal pain, or signs of infection. While Topotec 2.5mg Injection may cause side effects, these are often manageable with medication or supportive care. The therapeutic benefits of this medicine in cancer treatment frequently outweigh the potential risks of adverse effects, and many patients have achieved positive outcomes with this treatment.

How it works

Topotec 2.5mg Injection works by interfering with the normal function of DNA, which prevents cancer cells from dividing and growing. This helps to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells, which can lead to the regression of tumors and an improvement in cancer symptoms.

How to Use

Topotec 2.5mg Injection is typically administered by a healthcare provider as an intravenous (IV) infusion in a clinical setting. The dosage and frequency of infusions will vary depending on the patient's individual medical condition, age, weight, and other factors. You should not take a double dose to make up for the second dose. Care should be taken while handling this injection.
