Tornesp 40 Injection contains Darbepoetin Alfa, a medicine that belongs to the class of hematopoietic growth factors. It is used to treat anaemia (low red blood cell count) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and is also prescribed for chemotherapy-induced anaemia in people with certain types of cancer. Anaemia can cause symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and reduced energy levels. By stimulating the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells, Tornesp 40 Injection helps improve oxygen delivery throughout the body and relieves the symptoms of anaemia.

Do not use Tornesp 40 Injection if you are allergic to Darbepoetin Alfa or any of the other ingredients in this medicine, or if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have hypertension, any type of anaemia, a history of seizures or epilepsy, liver disease, hepatitis C, or a latex allergy, as these conditions may require special monitoring during therapy.

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your healthcare provider before using Tornesp 40 Injection. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe headache, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, vision changes, nausea, vomiting, or seizures, as these symptoms may indicate a serious complication that requires prompt evaluation.

The most common side effects of Tornesp 40 Injection include high blood pressure, shortness of breath, swelling of the legs (oedema), and cough.

Tornesp 40 Injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating protein produced by recombinant DNA technology. It is closely related to erythropoietin and stimulates erythropoiesis by the same mechanism, and both agents bind to progenitor stem cells stimulating the production/differentiation of red blood cells. It works by causing the bone marrow to make more red blood cells.

This injection is to be given under the skin (subcutaneous). Your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional will train you on how to inject yourself with this pre-filled pen.
