Product Introduction

Trombonamo 25mg Tablet contains Eltrombopag, a thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist that helps increase platelet production. It is prescribed to treat low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. ITP is an autoimmune condition in which the body's immune system mistakenly destroys platelets, increasing the risk of bleeding and bruising. Platelets are essential blood cells that help with clot formation and protect blood vessel walls. Trombonamo 25mg Tablet is also used in adults to treat severe aplastic anaemia, a serious blood disorder in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough healthy blood cells.

Do not use Trombonamo 25mg Tablet if you are allergic to Eltrombopag or any of the other ingredients in this medicine. Allergic reactions may range from mild to severe and can include skin rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. This medicine is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease, as it may increase liver enzymes and bilirubin levels, potentially worsening liver function. Your doctor may perform regular liver function tests during treatment to monitor your condition.

Your doctor may recommend routine eye examinations, including screening for cataracts and monitoring for bleeding in or around the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. Regular eye check-ups are important throughout the course of treatment.

If you stop taking Trombonamo 25mg Tablet, your platelet count may decrease again within a few days. Your doctor will monitor your platelet levels closely and advise you on the necessary precautions. Although this medicine is intended to increase platelet counts, excessively high platelet levels may raise the risk of blood clots. Blood clots can also occur in people with normal or even low platelet counts, so your doctor will adjust your dosage carefully to maintain a safe platelet level.

Avoid taking Trombonamo 25mg Tablet together with milk, dairy products, or calcium-rich foods and beverages, as calcium can reduce the absorption of Eltrombopag and decrease its effectiveness. Women of childbearing age should use effective contraception during treatment, and if pregnancy occurs, they should inform their doctor immediately.

Trombonamo 25mg Tablet is not recommended for children younger than 1 year with ITP. It is also not advised for patients below 18 years of age with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C infection or severe aplastic anaemia.

Before starting treatment, tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking or have recently taken, including prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, herbal supplements, and vitamins, as some medications may interact with Trombonamo 25mg Tablet and affect its safety or effectiveness.
