Product Introduction
Trudepot 11.25mg Injection contains the active ingredient Leuprolide acetate. It is a Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) agonist. This medicine treats prostate cancer in men, hormone-responsive breast cancer, and endometriosis (tissue that normally lines the interior of the uterus growing outside it) and uterine fibroids (noncancerous growths of the uterus) in women. It is also used to treat premature puberty (central precocious puberty), where hormonal changes cause a child's body to develop into an adult prematurely.
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Leuprolide acetate or any other ingredients, including Goserelin and Triptorelin, or to gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) products.
During treatment, existing symptoms may initially worsen due to increased sex steroid levels in the body. This typically resolves with continued use of the medicine. Discuss any concerns with your physician.
This medicine is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women or patients with abnormal vaginal bleeding. It is not recommended if you experience seizures or mood disorders.
Men who experience urinary blockage or who have undergone testicular excision should inform their physician. Regular measurement of bone density is advised. Women of childbearing age should use non-hormonal contraceptives while taking Trudepot 11.25mg Injection.
Inform your doctor if you experience pressure on the spinal cord, urinary disorders, or haematuria (blood in the urine).
Before starting therapy, tell your doctor about any underlying medical conditions including diabetes, seizures, heart problems (including chest pain or irregular heartbeats), depression, or increased risk of osteoporosis (thinning of the bones).
Inform your healthcare professional about all medicines you are taking, including prescription medications, over-the-counter products, herbal supplements, and vitamin supplements, before beginning therapy.
Uses
Trudepot 11.25mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Prostate cancer Hormone-responsive breast cancer in perimenopausal (around menopause) women Endometriosis (a painful illness in which the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of your uterus) Central precocious puberty in children under 10 years (a childâs body begins to change into an adult too soon caused by a release of certain hormones)
How it works
Trudepot 11.25mg Injection causes the pituitary gland's GnRH receptors to become desensitized, which lowers the amount of LH and FSH secreted. In the end, this leads to a decrease in the synthesis of sex hormones, specifically estrogen in females and testosterone in males. This helps to slow the growth of cancer cells, reduce the size of uterine fibroids, and alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis and early onset of puberty.
How to Use
Trudepot 11.25mg Injection is usually administered in the arm, thigh or abdomen. If this injection is recommended for you, it will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person.
