Product Introduction
Tufehart 1000mg injection contains ferric carboxylmaltose, an iron replacement product. It is used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia (reduced red blood cells due to low iron levels in the body) in adults and paediatric patients who cannot tolerate oral iron or when oral iron supplements are ineffective. It is also indicated for iron deficiency anaemia in adults with chronic kidney disease who are not on dialysis. This medicine is not recommended for paediatric patients less than one year of age.
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to ferric carboxylmaltose or any other ingredient in this medicine. Do not receive it if you have anaemia not caused by iron deficiency, iron overload (excess iron in the body), or difficulties in utilising iron.
Inform your physician if you have rheumatoid arthritis, severe asthma, eczema, infection, liver disorders, or low phosphate levels in the blood. Incorrect administration of this injection may cause irritation and long-lasting discolouration at the administration site.
Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting treatment with Tufehart 1000mg injection.
The most common side effects are nausea, hypertension, flushing, injection site reactions, skin reactions, vomiting, and dizziness.
Tell your physician if you have experienced serious allergic (hypersensitive) reactions to other injectable iron preparations.

How it works
Tufehart 1000mg injection releases iron via a carbohydrate polymer complexed with colloidal iron (III) hydroxide. This works by replenishing iron stores so that the body can make more red blood cells.
