Product Introduction

Twinaqt Tablet is a combination antiretroviral medicine containing Dolutegravir and Lamivudine. It is indicated for treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age weighing at least 40 kg. HIV infection occurs when the human immunodeficiency virus attacks and weakens a person's immune system. This infection progressively weakens immune function, making individuals more susceptible to opportunistic infections.

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known allergy or hypersensitivity to Dolutegravir, Lamivudine, or other ingredients in the formulation. Antacids can interfere with absorption of the medicine and reduce effectiveness. Antacids should not be taken within 6 hours before or at least 2 hours after taking this tablet. Other acid-lowering medications such as ranitidine may be used, and omeprazole can be taken simultaneously with this tablet. Consult your doctor for specific advice on taking acid-lowering medicines with this medicine.

Taking this tablet during the first weeks of pregnancy or if pregnancy occurs may increase the risk of malformed spinal cord in the foetus. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or plan to become pregnant before taking this medicine. Your doctor will explain the potential risks and benefits.

Breastfeeding is not recommended as viral infection can transmit through breast milk in patients taking Twinaqt Tablet.

Supplements or multivitamins containing calcium, iron, or magnesium reduce absorption and effectiveness of this medicine. If this tablet is taken with food, these supplements may be taken concurrently. If taken without food, avoid calcium, iron, or magnesium supplements for at least 6 hours before or 2 hours after taking the tablet. Consult your doctor for guidance on using these supplements with Twinaqt Tablet.

This tablet can interact with certain medications, potentially affecting their efficacy or increasing the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor about all medications, including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal supplements, to avoid potential drug interactions with Twinaqt Tablet.
