Product Introduction
Ultragef 250mg Tablet is an anticancer medicine that belongs to the class of tyrosine kinase inhibitors and contains the active ingredient gefitinib. It is prescribed for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). NSCLC is a type of lung cancer in which abnormal cells grow and multiply uncontrollably within the lung tissues. This medicine is indicated for patients whose NSCLC has spread to other parts of the body, who have specific epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutations, and who have not previously received treatment for their cancer. Certain formulations of Ultragef 250mg Tablet may contain lactose as an inactive ingredient. People with lactose intolerance may have difficulty digesting lactose, a natural sugar found in milk and dairy products, which can lead to symptoms such as bloating and abdominal pain. Inform your doctor if you are lactose intolerant before starting this medication. Tell your healthcare provider if you have kidney or liver disease, vision disorders, lung problems, or if you are taking blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests during treatment to monitor your health and reduce the risk of complications. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Ultragef 250mg Tablet, as it may increase the risk of dizziness. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This medication is not recommended during pregnancy because it may harm the developing fetus. Your healthcare provider will perform a pregnancy test before starting treatment and advise you to use effective contraception during therapy and for at least two weeks after the final dose. Breastfeeding should also be avoided while taking Ultragef 250mg Tablet, as it is not known whether gefitinib passes into breast milk.
