Product Introduction

Unuric 40mg Tablet belongs to the class of xanthine oxidase inhibitors and contains Febuxostat as its active ingredient. It is primarily used to treat gout, a type of arthritis caused by excessive accumulation of uric acid in the body, leading to pain, swelling, tenderness, and difficulty moving the affected joints. Gout commonly affects the big toe, but it can also occur in the ears, heels, knees, wrists, and fingers. This medicine is also prescribed to prevent and treat high uric acid levels that may develop when patients receive chemotherapy for certain blood cancers. Unuric 40mg Tablet lowers uric acid levels in the body and is also used to help prevent tumour lysis syndrome (TLS). TLS is a serious medical emergency that may occur in patients with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy, when cancer cells break down rapidly and release large amounts of uric acid, potassium, and phosphate into the bloodstream. During treatment with Unuric 40mg Tablet, your doctor may regularly monitor your white blood cell count, platelet count, blood sugar, electrolyte levels, and kidney function to reduce the risk of serious complications. This medicine may increase the risk of heart-related problems. Inform your doctor before starting treatment if you have liver disease, heart failure, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you develop signs of an allergic reaction, such as itching or skin rash, while taking this medicine. Unuric 40mg Tablet also contains lactose as an inactive ingredient. Patients with lactose intolerance should inform their doctor before beginning treatment, as lactose may cause symptoms such as bloating and abdominal discomfort.

How it works

It works by inhibiting the enzyme called xanthine oxidase inhibitors, which is responsible for the production of uric acid in the body. By inhibiting this enzyme, Unuric 40mg tablet reduces the production of uric acid, which can help prevent gout attacks and the formation of uric acid crystals in the joints and other tissues. Unuric 40mg tablet reduces the amount of uric acid produced in the body. This can help to lower uric acid levels in the blood and reduce the risk of gout.
