Product Introduction
Valocon 450mg tablet is an antiviral medication containing the active ingredient valganciclovir. It belongs to the antiviral (non-HIV) drug class. Valganciclovir is converted to ganciclovir in the body, where it acts against viral infections. It is used to treat Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the retina in adults with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Cytomegalovirus infection frequently causes vision problems and blindness. It also prevents Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in adult and paediatric patients who have received an organ transplant from a CMV-infected donor. Do not take this medication if you are allergic to valganciclovir, ganciclovir, or any other ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have low blood cell counts (WBC, RBC, platelets). Notify your doctor if you have undergone radiotherapy or haemodialysis (a treatment to filter waste and water from your blood) or have kidney conditions. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. Use effective contraception during and after treatment; women should use contraception for 30 days, and men should use condoms for 90 days during and after treatment. Discuss fertility concerns with your doctor. Dosage adjustment of Valocon 450mg tablet may be necessary if you have kidney conditions. Your doctor may perform regular blood tests to monitor blood cell counts while taking this tablet.
