Product Introduction

Vaxirab N Vaccine contains inactivated rabies virus as its active component and belongs to the class of vaccines. It is used for prevention of rabies before or after exposure to the virus, as pre-exposure prophylaxis or post-exposure prophylaxis. Rabies infection spreads when a person is bitten, scratched, or licked by an infected animal, particularly when the skin is already injured. Rabies is a serious viral disease that is often fatal and can cause severe neurological symptoms including fever, headache, muscle weakness, and paralysis. Once symptoms develop, the disease is almost always fatal. Although rabies infection is 100% fatal, it is 100% preventable with timely measures and correct use of available vaccines, immunoglobulins, or monoclonal antibodies. Vaxirab N Vaccine is not recommended if you are allergic to any of its components. Inform your doctor if you have high fever or any underlying acute illness before receiving Vaxirab N Vaccine. In paediatric patients the vaccine can be administered in the thigh muscle, whereas in elderly patients it can be given in the upper arm.

Uses

Prevention of rabies infection

How it works

The therapeutic effect of Vaxirab N Vacacine is to prevent or treat rabies infection. The attenuated rabies virus found in Vaxirab N Injection prompts the body's immune system to produce antibodies to fight rabies viruses. These antibodies offer defense against rabies virus-related infections and illnesses. It provides immediate, active immunity to the rabies virus by neutralizing it before it can infect the body's cells and cause disease.

How to Use

Vaxirab N Vaccine is available as an injection that is given by intramuscular route; It is recommended to give pre-exposure vaccine in a series of three intramuscular injections on days [0,7,21]. However, your healthcare professional will decide the dosage regimen based on your conditions.
