Product Introduction

Virem 600mg tablet is an antiretroviral medicine from the protease inhibitor class, containing darunavir as the active ingredient. It is used to treat HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection by enhancing immunity in adults and children aged three years and above. This medicine does not cure HIV, but may reduce the risk of developing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and HIV-related conditions. Virem 600mg tablet must be taken alongside ritonavir or cobicistat and other anti-HIV medicines.

Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to darunavir or any other ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, including hepatitis B or C infection; your doctor may monitor your liver function before prescribing Virem 600mg tablet. Notify your doctor if you have diabetes, as this medicine may increase blood sugar levels. Tell your doctor if you experience any symptoms of infection, such as enlarged lymph nodes or fever.

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have hemophilia (inherited bleeding disorder). Contact your doctor immediately if you develop musculoskeletal problems, including joint pain, stiffness, or difficulty in movement, particularly affecting the hip, knee, or shoulder. Notify your doctor if you are older than 65 years of age.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. In men, this medicine can pass into semen; use effective contraception during treatment and for seven days after the last dose. Discuss fertility concerns with your doctor.

Before starting Virem 600mg tablet, inform your doctor of all other medicines you are taking.

How it works

Virem 600mg tablet inhibits the activity of the HIV protease enzyme, which is responsible for the replication of the virus. This prevents the production of mature and infectious viral particles.

How to Use

Take the Virem 600mg tablet as your physician advises. Do not crush, chew, or open the medicine. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the tablet if your doctor advises you to stop.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Expert Tips

Discuss effective contraception methods with your doctor, along with fertility concerns. Virem 600mg tablet might reduce its effectiveness in contraception; alternative methods of non-hormonal contraception are recommended. Do not stop the medicine until your doctor advises. Regular blood tests are recommended to evaluate your liver function and hepatitis B virus level. A combination of antiretroviral therapy may develop a bone disease (osteonecrosis). Notify your doctor if you experience any serious side effects. You are doctor may change your dose or stop the treatment.

Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor Do not breastfeed while taking the Virem 600mg tablet because there is the possibility of transmitting both the HIV infection and the medicine's ingredient to the infant
