Viro 4 Kit Tablet

Viro 4 Kit tablet contains the active substances Atazanavir, Lamivudine, Ritonavir, and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, which are antiretroviral or antiviral medicines. This medicine is used to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection. It acts as a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) and functions by inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase, an enzyme essential for virus replication. This tablet has not been studied in patients aged over 65 years. Do not use Viro 4 Kit tablet if you have experienced allergic reactions to Atazanavir, Lamivudine, Ritonavir, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, or any other ingredient in this medicine. During treatment with Atazanavir, Lamivudine, Ritonavir, and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, cardiac function, liver function, and kidney function parameters to prevent serious complications. Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart failure (PR prolongation), hypersensitivity reactions (toxic skin eruptions or Stevens-Johnson syndrome), pancreatitis, bone disease (osteonecrosis—the death of bone tissue), fractures, liver disease (chronic hepatitis B or C), or kidney problems. Patients taking this medicine may develop immune reconstitution syndrome, diabetes mellitus, abnormal fat distribution, and hyperglycaemia. Viro 4 Kit tablet should not be given to patients with existing kidney problems. If you have lactose intolerance, notify your doctor before beginning treatment. Inform your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or believe you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended due to the potential risk of HIV transmission from mother to child.

Treatment of HIV infection

Atazanavir and Ritonavir inhibit the viral enzyme protease. Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate inhibit the enzyme reverse transcriptase; inhibition of these enzymes blocks the reproduction of the virus and prevents the release of viral particles in the body to treat the HIV infection.

Viro 4 Kit tablet are film-coated tablets. The usual recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet every day, with or without food. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person. Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. Inform your doctor about your underlying infections. If you have advanced HIV (AIDS), you may develop signs of infection and inflammation or worsen the signs of an existing infection once treatment is started. Report your doctor for side effects. It is very mandatory to tell your medical professional if you are consuming other medicines that may damage your kidneys. Always consume the dose recommended by your doctor. Viro 4 Kit tablet does not reduce the risk of passing on HIV to others through sexual contact or blood contamination. You must continue the medication to avoid this complication. Most patients experience asymptomatic increases in hyperbilirubinemia (increase in bilirubin).
