Product Introduction

Welhart 150mg Capsule is an antiarrhythmic medication containing the active ingredient Mexiletine. This medication is used to treat irregular heart rhythms, also known as arrhythmias. It also helps manage the symptoms of myotonia in adults with non-dystrophic myotonic disorders (conditions resulting from genetic defects that affect muscle function). These disorders are characterised primarily by muscle-related symptoms rather than by a specific type of muscular dystrophy. Myotonia refers to a condition in which muscles have difficulty relaxing after contraction. This can result in muscle stiffness or delayed relaxation.

This drug is contraindicated in patients who have had a myocardial infarction (heart attack). Before starting treatment with Welhart 150mg Capsule, inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, or kidney problems; low or high blood potassium levels; low blood magnesium levels; or epilepsy. This drug can affect the nervous system and may require cautious use in individuals with seizure disorders. Do not take this medicine if you have an allergy to local anaesthetics, which are medications that numb a specific area of the body.

Use of this drug is not recommended in children and adults under 18 years of age. While taking this medicine, reducing your caffeine intake by half is recommended. Welhart 150mg Capsule can increase blood caffeine levels. Elevated caffeine levels can cause side effects including jitteriness, increased heart rate, and other adverse effects. Reducing caffeine intake helps prevent these interactions.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or are planning to become pregnant. This drug passes into breast milk. Therefore, breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with this drug.
