Product Introduction
Wempitaz 4.5gm injection contains piperacillin and tazobactam, active ingredients from the broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotics and beta-lactamase inhibitors group. Piperacillin combined with tazobactam works to eliminate numerous types of harmful bacteria. When piperacillin is administered with tazobactam, it demonstrates greater effectiveness against certain resistant bacterial strains.
This medicine is indicated for treating bacterial infections of the lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, abdomen, skin, or blood in adults and adolescents. Wempitaz 4.5gm injection also treats bacterial infections in children aged 2–12 years, particularly abdominal infections such as appendicitis, peritonitis, and gallbladder infections. It is additionally used in patients with low white blood cell counts and those with weaker immune systems. In serious infections, doctors may prescribe it alongside other antibiotics to enhance efficacy.
Do not use Wempitaz 4.5gm injection in children under 2 years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data in this age group. Avoid this medicine if you are allergic to piperacillin, tazobactam, penicillins, cephalosporins, other beta-lactamase inhibitors, or any ingredients.
Before use, inform your doctor if you have low potassium levels, liver or kidney issues, or are undergoing haemodialysis, which requires monitoring. Regular blood tests may be conducted during treatment. If you are taking anticoagulants or experience unexpected bleeding, inform your healthcare professional immediately. Notify your healthcare professional if you develop convulsions or suspect new or worsening infection during treatment. Be aware of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a condition involving excessive white blood cell production; contact your doctor immediately if you experience fever, swollen glands, weakness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, bruising, or skin rash. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
Uses

How it works
