It is also used to prevent recurrence of DVT and PE following initial treatment in adults. The medicine is indicated to reduce the risk of stroke or serious blood clot formation in adults with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm that increases the risk of blood clot formation and potential stroke) not caused by heart valve disease. Xarelto 10mg tablet is indicated in children and adolescents below 18 years of age with a body weight of 30 kg or more for the treatment of blood clots. It is also used to prevent recurrence of blood clots in the veins or blood vessels of the lungs following initial treatment of at least 5 days with injectable anticoagulant medicines.
