Uses

Treatment of prostate cancer Hormonal Therapy Reduces Tumor Progression Manages Cancer Symptoms

How it works

Zytiga 250mg Tablet is primarily used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) by inhibiting androgen production, which fuels the growth of prostate cancer cells. It works by blocking the enzyme CYP17, reducing the production of testosterone and other androgens from the adrenal glands, testes, and even cancer cells themselves. This reduction in androgen levels slows disease progression, improves survival rates, and enhances the patient's overall quality of life. When combined with prednisone, it helps minimize side effects like hypertension and fluid retention, making the treatment more effective and tolerable for patients.
