Product Introduction
Xmab 100mg injection contains rituximab as its active constituent. It is used in adults for several different disease conditions, either alone or in combination with other medications. These include non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer affecting B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell) and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (the most common form of cancer affecting B-cells). It is also indicated for moderate-to-severe rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the body's own joint cells) in combination with methotrexate in adults. Additional uses include granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis (inflammation of blood vessels primarily affecting the lungs and kidneys) in adults and children 2 years of age and older. It is also used to treat moderate to severe pemphigus vulgaris (an autoimmune condition causing painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth, throat, nose, and genitals). Xmab 100mg injection belongs to the class of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies.
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to rituximab or any other ingredients in this medicine, have a compromised immune system, or have any severe active infection. Inform your physician if you have heart disease, heart failure, or breathing problems before starting treatment. Discuss with your doctor if you have previously had hepatitis B infection, as reactivation may occur in some cases and can be severe. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not recommended during treatment with this injection. Common side effects include blood infection, reduced red blood cells, dizziness, swelling of the face and body, itchy skin, diarrhoea, increased sweating, and low or high blood pressure. Use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after the last dose if you can become pregnant. This medicine may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours after administration. Inform your physician or healthcare professional if you experience any infusion reactions such as elevated blood pressure, chest pain, headache, breathing difficulties, vomiting, skin rashes, or throat swelling.
Uses
Xmab 100mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following: Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) Rheumatoid Arthritis Granulomatosis with polyangiitis or microscopic polyangiitis Pemphigus Vulgaris
How it works
Xmab 100mg injection is a monoclonal antibody that targets the antigen CD20 expressed on the cell surface of B-lymphocytes (a type of white blood cells). When this medicine binds to the B-cell, it induces cell death in NHL and CLL. The binding action blocks cell activation and growth and cause anticancer effects. It inhibits rheumatoid factor production, antigen presentation, T-cell activation, and proinflammatory cytokine production in rheumatoid arthritis.
How to Use
It should only be administered by a trained doctor or nurse. Do not self-administer the injection. Before giving Xmab 100mg injection, you will be given other medications (pre-medication) to reduce the possible side effects. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of your treatment based on the disease severity and other factors. It will be given as an intravenous infusion, and you will be monitored carefully for any unwanted side effects.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Although all drugs can cause side effects, not everyone experiences them. Expert Tips
Avoid vaccines before and during therapy with Xmab 100mg injection, as it may cause drug-induced immunosuppression. Inform your physician if you have received a recent vaccine or have an active infection during treatment. Do not get vaccinated with live virus vaccines before or during treatment if you have rheumatoid arthritis. Report any symptoms like chest pain, breathing difficulties, stomach pain, or skin reactions to your doctor immediately. If you have kidney disease, inform your physician, as limited information is available on the safety of this medicine in renal failure patients. Regularly monitor your blood counts and kidney function during treatment.
