Product Introduction

Zienam 500mg injection contains the active ingredients Cilastatin and Imipenem, which are carbapenem antibiotics. It is used to treat various complex infections in the abdominal region, lung-related infections such as pneumonia, and infections occurring around the time of childbirth. It is also effective against complicated urinary tract infections and skin and soft tissue infections. This medicine is used in managing patients with low white blood cell counts and suspected bacterial-induced fevers. It serves as an option for treating bloodstream infections potentially linked to these types of infections.

Do not use Zienam 500mg injection if you are allergic to Cilastatin, Imipenem, Penicillins, Cephalosporins, Carbapenems, or any of its ingredients. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor about any allergies you have, including antibiotic allergies, as severe allergic reactions may require immediate medical attention.

Inform your doctor if you have colitis, any other gastrointestinal conditions, or kidney or urinary problems, especially if your kidney function is reduced. In cases of reduced kidney function, medicine levels can increase, potentially leading to adverse effects on the central nervous system if dosing is not adjusted appropriately. Notify your doctor if you have any central nervous system disorders, such as localised tremors or epileptic seizures, and liver conditions.

Zienam 500mg injection is not advised for paediatric patients weighing under 30 kg. It is not suitable for individuals with meningitis due to lack of established safety and effectiveness in this context. This medication should not be used for children under one year or those with kidney issues.

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you may be pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding, as this medicine is not recommended unless your doctor advises. This medicine contains sodium. Inform your doctor if you are on a sodium-free diet.
