Product Introduction

Zilias 2000mg/500mg Injection is a combination antibiotic containing Ceftazidime and Avibactam. Ceftazidime belongs to the class of third-generation cephalosporin antibiotics, while Avibactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that helps protect the antibiotic from bacterial resistance. Together, these medicines provide broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and are used to treat serious bacterial infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and intra-abdominal infections.

Do not use Zilias 2000mg/500mg Injection if you are allergic to Ceftazidime, Avibactam, or any of the ingredients in this medicine. It is also important to inform your doctor if you have a history of allergy to cephalosporins, penicillins, or any other antibiotic group before starting treatment. Receiving more than the prescribed dose may increase the risk of seizure-like symptoms. Therefore, let your doctor know if you have a history of epilepsy or seizures before using this medicine.

Treatment with Zilias 2000mg/500mg Injection may cause antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, which can range from mild to severe. If you develop persistent or severe diarrhoea during or after completing treatment, contact your doctor immediately. This medicine should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function, as dose adjustments may be required based on kidney function. Your doctor may also monitor your kidney health regularly throughout the treatment period. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, inform your healthcare provider before receiving this injection. Your doctor will carefully assess the potential benefits and risks before recommending Zilias 2000mg/500mg Injection.

How it works

Ceftazidime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Avibactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Avibactam helps protect Ceftazidime from being degraded by beta-lactamase enzymes, allowing the antibiotic to kill the bacteria effectively.

Expert Tips

Finish the entire prescribed course of Zilias 2000mg/500mg Injection, even if you start feeling better before completion. Stopping the medication suddenly can lead to incomplete treatment and the risk of recurrent or resistant infections. Notify your doctor if you have allergies to cephalosporin antibiotics, penicillins, or other medications. Also, report any adverse reactions or side effects you experience during treatment.
