Product Introduction
Zoledoc 4mg Injection contains the active ingredient zoledronic acid. It belongs to the class of medicines called bisphosphonates. It is used to reduce elevated blood calcium levels in adult patients with tumour-induced hypercalcaemia (TIH), a condition in which tumours accelerate bone resorption and increase calcium release from bone.
Zoledoc 4mg Injection is also indicated to prevent bone complications in adult patients with multiple myeloma and bone metastases from solid tumours (cancer spread from the primary site to bone), as an adjunct to standard cancer therapy. It is used to prevent or treat osteoporosis (a condition characterised by thin, weak bones that fracture easily) in postmenopausal women and in men. The injection is also used to treat Paget's disease of bone, a condition in which bones become soft, weak, and may become deformed, painful, or easily fractured. Additional uses include treating or preventing osteoporosis in patients of either sex who are receiving glucocorticoids (corticosteroid medications that may cause osteoporosis).
Do not use this injection if you are allergic to zoledronic acid, other bisphosphonates, or any ingredient in this medicine. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, bone disorders, pain, swelling, or jaw numbness. This medicine is not recommended in adolescents and children under 18 years of age.
Zoledoc 4mg Injection is not a cancer chemotherapy agent and will not slow or stop cancer spread. However, it can be used to treat bone diseases in patients with cancer.

How it works
Zoledronic acid primarily inhibits the bone resorption. It works by slowing bone breakdown, increasing bone density (thickness), and decreasing the amount of calcium released from the bones into the blood.
How to Use
It should only be administered by a trained doctor or nurse. It will be given as a drip (infusion) into your vein. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment based on your disease severity and other factors. Do not self-administer the medication.
