Product Introduction
Zolpharm 4mg Injection contains the active ingredient Zoledronic Acid, a medicine that belongs to the bisphosphonate class. It is used to reduce high blood calcium levels (hypercalcaemia) in adults when caused by certain types of tumours. Some cancers increase the normal breakdown of bone tissue, leading to excessive calcium being released into the bloodstream. This condition is known as tumour-induced hypercalcaemia (TIH). Zolpharm 4mg Injection is also prescribed to prevent bone-related complications in adults with multiple myeloma and bone metastases from solid tumours when used alongside standard cancer therapy.
In addition, Zolpharm 4mg Injection is indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and in men with reduced bone density. It is also used to manage Paget's disease of bone, a condition in which bones become enlarged, weak, painful, or more likely to fracture. Furthermore, this medicine may be prescribed to prevent or treat glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in men and women receiving long-term corticosteroid therapy, which can lead to bone loss and increase the risk of fractures.
Do not use Zolpharm 4mg Injection if you are allergic to Zoledronic Acid, any other bisphosphonate, or any of the ingredients contained in this medicine. It should also be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, bone disorders, or symptoms such as jaw pain, swelling, or numbness, as these conditions may require close monitoring throughout therapy. This medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age.
It is important to understand that Zolpharm 4mg Injection is not a chemotherapy medicine and does not stop or slow the progression of cancer. Instead, it is used to treat bone diseases and reduce skeletal complications in patients with cancer, helping to maintain bone strength and lower the risk of fractures and other bone-related complications.
