MOISTURIZING LOTION

Background and Date of Approval

Moisturising Lotion is a skin protectant medication that belongs to the emollients category of medicines. It received U.S. FDA approval for the treatment of psoriasis and eczema.

Uses

Moisturising Lotion has been developed to treat psoriasis (it is a chronic autoimmune condition that causes the rapid buildup of skin cells, leading to scaly, red patches and inflammation), and eczema (it occurs as a result of an overactive immune system, and this can be often triggered by factors such as stress, allergens, or irritants).

How is it administered?

For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. After cleansing, apply moisturising lotion once or twice daily or as recommended by your doctor. It is important to apply enough lotion to cover the entire affected area that needs treatment and to gently massage it into the skin until it is fully absorbed.

Side Effects

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them. This lotion is generally safe to use and won’t cause any side effects. However, if you experience any uncommon side effects, consult your physician for advice.

Warnings

It is important to avoid using this lotion if you have a known allergy to any of its ingredients. Some common symptoms of an allergic reaction may include skin rash, hives, itching, swelling, or other symptoms. If you experience any of these symptoms after using this lotion, you should discontinue it immediately and seek medical attention. Check the ingredients list on any skincare products before using them, mainly if you have known allergies or sensitive skin. This lotion is also recommended for individuals undergoing radiation therapy to protect the skin from radiation-induced damage. Radiation therapy can cause skin irritation, dryness, itching, and redness, which can be uncomfortable and may lead to complications if left untreated.

Precautions

This product is designed for external use only and should not be ingested. Be careful to avoid contact with your eyes when using this lotion. If accidental contact occurs, immediately rinse your eyes with water and seek medical attention if necessary.

Word of Advice

Read the product label and follow the manufacturer's instructions for use. Perform a patch test before using a new product, particularly if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies. Apply a small amount of the product to an affected area of the skin and wait at least 24 hours to observe any reaction. If you experience irritation or adverse reactions, discontinue use and consult a healthcare provider or dermatologist. Store skincare products containing moisturising lotion away from direct sunlight. Check the expiration date of the product before use. Expired products may be less effective and may cause skin irritation or other problems. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any underlying medical conditions, speak with your doctor before using new skincare products. Always use sunscreen when going outdoors, as this product does not provide sun protection.
